1400 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60605 The Field Museum of Chicago 2,000 sq/ft. Project Manager 2001 – 2002

The Museum’s administrative offices constituted approximately 17,000 square feet of space in varying degrees of disrepair. There was no fire prevention or protection system; electrical and tel/data systems were being taxed; the HVAC system required constant attention; and the building automation system was antiquated.

Furthermore, with the purchase of Sue, the most complete T-Rex found to date, the Museum was simultaneously undergoing a period of growth on a magnitude never before seen at the institution. The various Museum Administrative Departments were adding staff to meet the growing need. However, the Administrative Offices had not been updated in over fifteen years and were designed around relatively large furniture, leaving limited opportunity for increase in personnel.
